Introducing our new Festive Dinner Menu

We’re delighted to announce that our new festive menus have arrived in The Dining Room.

Christmas is a time of the year to spend with family and friends while indulging in the most decadent of food and drink. Carefully prepared by our award-winning kitchen team, our new seasonal menus use locally sourced fresh ingredients from the region to create sensational festive dishes that inspire and delight. Join us as we journey through our new Dinner menu and discover just some of the new flavours you can look forward to this festive season… 

Our indulgent starters set the precedent for any dining experience in The Dining Room and our festive dinner menu is no exception. Brimming with the freshest ingredients of the season, our starters whet your appetite for what’s to come. Opt for our Pressing of Corn-Fed Chicken, brined overnight for more intense flavour with an added black pudding crumb for that all-important texture. For those who prefer sea to land, why not sample our Hot Smoked Salmon Terrine which uses salmon flaked until fine to deliver a rich, full-bodied dish. Something lighter? Try our Charred Carrot, Fennel and Cauliflower Salad, finished with an Earl Grey soaked cranberries and with clementine for that perfectly zingy finish.

Our selection of main courses also celebrate the wonderful produce that the season brings. Dive into hearty dishes such as our Pot Roast Breast of Pheasant, braised and flaked for intensified flavour, or our Baked Cod with delicious Rioja-braised salsify. Our Beef Two Ways is also an exceptional choice, recommended medium rare for a perfectly cooked and tender dish. And, of course, no festive menu would be complete without our classic Traditional Turkey Roast, served with all the trimmings the season promises (think roast roots, spiced red cabbage, pigs in blankets and a cranberry, apricot and pine nut stuffing) to bring plenty of festive cheer to your palate. 

Vegetarians need not compromise, either. For meat-free comfort food at its very best, our Roast Salt Baked Parsnip Wellington is the perfect choice, packed full of delicious salted roots and complemented with servings of potato tuile and walnut and caper salsa. Or perhaps our crispy yet tantalisingly pillowy Pan-fried Potato Gnocchi will hit the spot – a decadent twist on the traditional dish served with white wine soaked shallots, parmesan and braised artichokes.

When it comes to dessert, there’s something particularly comforting about our Homemade Christmas Pudding or Sticky Toffee Pudding on a cold, dark evening. Our decadent Chocolate and Cherry Trifle is also a must over the festive season, deconstructed and served with layers of sorbet, cherries and tuile. Lighter options include Cherry Financier, Pressed Apple Terrine and our Vanilla Panna Cotta, served with mulled plums, apples, pears and figs and a generous sprinkling of oats for added crunch and texture.
