- Autumn at Walwick Hall
Crisp air, beautiful warm hues, crackling open fires and hearty foods – it’s no surprise that so many consider Autumn the best of the four seasons. Here’s just a few of reasons to celebrate all the wonders of the season at Walwick Hall…
Time for yourself
Positioned between the rush of the summer holidays and the beginning of Christmas shopping, Autumn brings with it a welcome period of rest and calm. October and November offers the perfect time to escape the crowds, pack your bags and indulge in a peaceful getaway. Explore our region’s most picturesque sites, from Hadrian’s Wall to Northumberland National Park, before relaxing into an afternoon of luxury and tranquility with a warming treatment in our Spa.
Hearty seasonal dining
When it comes to food, we think Autumn should be all about those warming, comfort dishes. Our brand new menus use the very best of the season’s foods, from partridge and roots to blackberries and pears, to bring you the freshest flavours available. And, of course, what would these colder months be without one of our famous warming Sunday Roasts?
Scenic rambles
What would Autumn be without feeling the delightful crunch of leaves under your feet? The breathtaking natural scenery that surrounds our estate is perfect place to lose yourself in all the beauty and colours of the season. We’ve loved venturing out to discover the visual delights of the season settling in around our estate, from the crisp fallen leaves that lay across our private grounds to the bursts of amber that tinge the trees of our surrounding Tyne Valley.
Crackling log fires
The darker evenings of the Autumn lend themselves to snuggling up with a glass of something warming next to our beautiful open fires. Or book an Afternoon Tea in the Drawing Room and indulge in perfect selection of freshly prepared savoury and sweet treats next to the fire, all while taking in sweeping countryside views across our terrace. What could be better?
Autumn events
There’s a number family-friendly events to enjoy this Autumn in our nearby market towns. Get seasonal at Hexham’s annual Spook Night, or why not head to the lively city of Newcastle upon Tyne and celebrate the build up to Christmas with a visit to the Living North Christmas Fair? We’ll be once again exhibiting this year with plenty of wonderful goodies on offer to get you ready for the big day, so be sure to stop by and say hello.
