Celebrate the culinary delights of British Food Fortnight in the beautiful surroundings of The Dining Room at Walwick Hall.
Running from 21st September until 6th October, British Food Fortnight is the biggest annual celebration of British food. It was established in 2002 and today offers an opportunity to celebrate fine British food that’s been locally sourced and sustainably grown.
Here in The Dining Room, our talented team of chefs are dedicated to serving the finest dishes to each and every guest that walks through our doors, each and every day. Dishes that blend quality ingredients from our unparalleled Northumbrian larder and fresh vegetables from our very own kitchen garden, all to guarantee maximum flavour and freshness on your plate all year-round.
We regularly refresh our menus in The Dining Room because we believe that as the British seasons change, so should your food choices. And there are a huge number of benefits to enjoy from eating seasonally, too. The flavours in fruit and vegetables grown in-season are also stronger and more delicious, and the textures are just as they should be. As seasonal foods are fresher, they are often a lot more nutritious and, not forgetting, more sustainable too. By eliminating the need to travel long distances, we’re reducing our carbon footprint and energy consumption in the growing and nurturing of our food. What’s not to love?
Choosing British means supporting British farmers whose work helps to keep our British countryside as beautiful as it is. Along with our kitchen garden, we also take pride in sourcing our ingredients from local producers, suppliers and farmers, all produced with the utmost care and attention right here in our very own county of Northumberland.
