Walwick’s classically-trained Head Chef, Steven Murray, takes traditional dishes and adds a modern culinary twist; elevating them to something memorable, distinctive and uniquely flavoursome.

Our chef, Steven, uses classic ingredients from the traditional Northumbrian larder – locally-farmed beef and lamb, fresh vegetables from our own kitchen garden – and allies this rigorous sourcing to the latest international gastronomic techniques.

The kitchen has developed key partnerships with skilled local artisan suppliers like Scotts, an award-winning butchers in Ponteland village, who have helped create unique Walwick specialties, such as our very own bangers. Other premium suppliers include Lauder fine foods for luscious salmon and dairy from Northumberland Pedigree in Slaley, famous for their prize-winning pedigree Shorthorns and Ayrshires.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served in The Dining Room which has its own distinctive ambience. Afternoon Tea is served in the comfort of our Drawing Room in front of a roaring fire, or a large bay window which overlooks the beautiful Northumberland countryside.

Snacks and light lunches are also available our bar, served to both guests and locals alike.
