Kitchen Porter

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Kitchen Porter to work in our busy kitchen here at Walwick Hall. The successful applicant will be responsible for the cleaning of dishes from the Restaurant, as well as maintaining high-standards of cleanliness across all areas in the kitchen. The role will also include taking deliveries and rotating stock where necessary. 

Due to our location and the requirement to work shifts, a driving licence with own transport or access to flexible lifts is essential. The ideal candidate will also be able to work weekend and evening shifts as part of a changing, flexible rota.

Knowledge, experience and skills required:

  • Assist with basic food preparation.
  • Washing pots, pans, crockery & cutlery.
  • Positive attitude and approach to work.
  • Flexibility to assist in other kitchen areas as required.
  • Ensure all equipment used is used in-line with training.
  • Pride in maintaining standards
  • Empty rubbish & food bins

What we offer:

Spa Therapist

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full-time, experienced Spa Therapist to join our boutique Spa at Walwick Hall, working with luxury Spa brand, Germaine de Capuccini. As a Spa Therapist, you will work in our Treatment Room and remain in charge of Spa guests and consultation sessions – looking after guests throughout their experience in the Spa.

Duties will also cover admin and and maintenance of client records and daily task sheets, as well as working alongside the Hotel Reception team to ensure a flawless, seamless guest experience from arrival to departure.

The successful candidate will be able to work both evening and weekend shifts as part of a flexible rota.

Knowledge, experience and skills required:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Holding a Level 3 qualification in beauty therapy or equivalent qualification is essential for this role.
  • Delivery of spa treatments and services including Massage, Facials, Mani/Pedicure
  • Must be confident performing a range of luxury treatments (brand-specific training will be provided).
  • Have a passion for the spa & leisure industry and be aware of industry trends & developments
  • Through training, have an in-depth awareness of products in order to give recommendations and achieve retail sales.

Housekeeping Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a hard-working Housekeeping Assistant at Walwick Hall Hotel, working a 24 hour per week contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel public areas and servicing hotel guest bedrooms to an immaculate standard. Ideally you will be quality focussed, with a passion for presentation and the ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-standards environment. Previous experience in a similar role is desired but not essential. Must be available to work weekends as well as early morning starts and later finishes on a flexible rota.

Duties include:

• Cleaning hotel public areas.
• Servicing guest bedrooms and bathrooms to the Matfen Hall standard.
• Ensure guest requests are met – e.g extra bedding, pillows, cots.
• Engage positively with guests and represent the business well.
• Advise of any stock items running low.
• Assist with laundry when necessary.

Knowledge, experience and skills required:

  • Communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Positive attitude and approach to work.
  • Flexibility to assist in all Housekeeping areas
  • Ensure all equipment used is used in-line with training
  • Pride in maintaining standard
  • Good level of fitness, health and stamina is needed due to the physical nature of the job.

Part Time Breakfast Chef

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Part Time Breakfast Chef to join our incredible team here at our boutique hotel. The successful applicant will work alongside our Head Chef to manage preparation of hot and cold food for breakfast service to the highest standard, running sections of the kitchen during service, ensuring a consistently high level of food service at all times through knowledge of menu items and awareness of commodities used, preparation, methods and cooking as well as assisting as necessary with stock control and identifying methods for improving food service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working 3 mornings per week, 7.30am – 12noon
  • To prepare, cook and serve breakfast at the required service time and standard
  • Overseeing and organising kitchen stock and ingredients for the morning service
  • Supervising breakfast food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards
  • To ensure the kitchen is maintained in a clean, organised manner ensuring all food safety and health & safety policies and procedures are followed.

Knowledge, experience and skills required:

  • Confidence in leading any section of the kitchen to a high standard
  • Excellent level of cooking
  • Experience in Breakfast Cooking essential
  • Must be able to demonstrate good food production
  • Ability to work under the pressure of a busy kitchen

Junior Sous Chef

The successful applicant will work alongside our Head Chef and Sous Chef to manage daily kitchen activities.

  • Leading the kitchen team in the Head Chef and Sous Chef’s absence.
